ABOUT Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Civil and Environmental Engineering is the comprehensive academic field related to the development of infrastructures that will improve the quality of human life. Environmental problems such as water and soil contamination and the prevention of natural disasters due to powerful earthquakes are also treated. Today, engineers need not only to be able to construct and maintain infrastructure, but also to be able to evaluate the influence of these projects on the environment. The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering offers courses that deal with these topics.
